This policy has been written to protect the clients of Perennial Psychology and the therapeutic relationships psychologists at Perennial Psychology create and maintain with clients.

Our Social Media Policy

At Perennial Psychology, we are all practising psychologists. This means we are health practitioners registered with AHPRA and it’s important that clients understand how we conduct ourselves online in an ethical and professional way,. This is in line with rules and ethical principles from the relevant governing bodies, such as AHPRA and the APS. By joining and engaging with our social media community, you agree that you have read and will follow these rules and guidelines. Please take a moment to acquaint yourself with them.

Personal Connections
To uphold privacy and protect the integrity of the therapeutic relationship, psychologists at Perennial Psychology do not accept online friendship requests/follow requests or otherwise engage with previous or current clients online.
Psychologists at Perennial Psychology will not search for current, past or prospective clients online, including social media platforms. Doing so violates your privacy and disrupts the impartial therapeutic boundaries we maintain.

Professional Pages
Perennial Psychology has online accounts, including Facebook and Instagram. The purpose of these pages is to provide information and share knowledge about our practice and our clinicians. Former or current clients are welcome to follow these professional pages if they chose. Clients should be aware that doing so may indicate a connection with our practice, and may inhibit their confidentiality.
Please refrain from sharing personal information about yourself and your treatment online publically. If you chose to directly engage with our practice publicly via social media (for example, liking or commenting on posts), Perennial Psychology does not respond personally to any comments or queries, as it is outside the scope of the purpose of the platforms and may be a breach of your client confidentiality.
Please do not contact us privately via social media platforms, as it is not secure and we do not regularly monitor these channels. All contact with our practice should be via phone or email.
